Special Long Way Down cut hits cinemas

One-time showing preludes U.S. broadcast premiere

The motorcycle documentary Long Way Down is making its way down to movie theaters across America.

A special two-hour director’s cut of the series will be shown on July 31 at 7:30 pm at theaters nationwide. The director’s cut will serve as a prelude to the full ten-part series which will make its U.S. debut on Aug. 2 on the Fox Reality Channel.

Long Way Down follows actors and motorcycle enthusiasts Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman on a journey taking them on a 15,535 mile journey from the village of John o’Groats on the northern tip of Scotland to Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of South Africa, on a pair of BMW R1200GS Adventure motorcycles.Long Way Down will make its U.S. television premiere on Aug. 2 on the Fox Reality Channel.

Along the way, the duo, and a crew including cameramen Claudio Von Planta and Jimmy Simak and producers Russ Malkin and David Alexanian, traveled through 20 countries in 93 days.
