Female rider forum at Ohio Bike Week

Free seminars and displays open to men and women

By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 15, 2008
A three-day conference for female riders will take place at Ohio Bike Week in Sandusky, Ohio.

Genevieve Schmitt of Women Riders Now organized ‘Women Riders: No limits!’. It will take place June 12-14 at the Sandusky State Theater.

“’Women Riders: No Limits!’ presented by Motolight is all about showing women riders that there are no limits to what they want to do when it comes to motorcycling,” says Schmitt. “The event will give attendees the opportunity to learn how to become a better rider, and more about motorcycling through informative seminars and by meeting other riders. It also gives them a chance to visit with vendors offering female focused products all in one area.”

Seminars are open to both women and men and will be moderated by women. They include an introduction to motorcycle maintenance hosted by Sara Liberte of Garage-Girls.com, street survival strategies from Motorcycle Safety Foundation instructor Susan Rzepka Orion, and a panel of veteran female long distance riders discussing lessons they’ve learned from through experience.

The Motorcycle Hall of Fame’s traveling women’s exhibit will also be on display.

‘Women Riders: No Limits!’ is free and open to all. The conference will begin with a reception at 5 pm on June 12.
